I’ve been the architect of dozens of extremely successful real estate transactions since I began my real estate career in 1993, but I also invested in a deal that turned out to be a financial disaster for one of my companies. Which deal taught me the most?
You guessed it - the one that nearly broke us! The key is that I learn from my missteps, I pay attention to my mistakes, and I have become an expert at not making the same mistake twice and at learning from each one.
Along the way, I’ve become an expert at teaching others about the business and how to avoid those same mistakes I have made when investing in self-storage.

When is it?
June 1-3, 2023 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday)
Where is it?
The Academy will be held at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indianapolis, IN.
What is the schedule?
Registration will start at 7:45 AM, while the Academy begins at 8:30 AM to 5 PM ET daily (networking event in the evening on Day 1). Any exceptions or changes to the agenda will be announced in the room daily by Scott or the team.
Are there any prerequisites?
We suggest to all students to have been through The Complete Guide to Finding, Evaluating, & Purchasing Self Storage Facilities™ Home Study Course manual and training videos, PLUS the Self-Storage Valuator Training before arriving to the Academy to ensure that you can follow along with all terms and training during the sessions.
